STARTUP
A STUDENT RUN DESIGN COMPETITION
SCAD StartUp is a yearly event hosted by @FLUX, the UX club, in collaboration with @SCADPro. Students compete in teams of 2-5 in a week-long design sprint. They’re challenged to come up with a product or service concept based on a theme, and are given a toolkit of product design and service design resources to utilize. Each team's final deliverables are presented in the form of a pitch deck, which they present to a panel of leading industry professionals that serve as mock investors.

@StartUp 2021 was our biggest year to date. We had over 400 student participants, we raised over $100k in company sponsorship, and we were able to give away nearly $40k in student prizes and another $20k to minority-owned small business owners who were able to participate and earn pro-bono designs for their own unique challenges. As director, I led a student team with my co-director @Lara Federspiel, and we were able to put on the best StartUp yet.
